San Cassiano
Cantina San Cassiano take its name from the li2le village San Cassiano, in the core of Mezzane Valley. It is the hamlet of brave bikers, between the houses of people who loves nature and where olive trees are caressed from an amazing sun. The hamlet where the ancient name of Valpolicella is blended with a young enthusiast estate. The hamlet with wine has a special personality, made with patience, attention of nature and love. Albino Sella founded in 1964 the estate ransoming some hectares with his job of tenant farmer. AIer twenty years of livestock it started to plant olive trees and vines. Since 80s, the estate has expanded and in 2000 Albino’s grandson Mirko Sella joined it, reaching three thousand olive trees and four hectares of vines. In 2004 Mirko founded Azienda Agricola San Cassiano including the oil mill, the cellar, fourteen hectares of vineyard and seven of olives. Native vines of Mezzane valley are Corvinone, Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara and Oseleta, which are protagonists of our wine production. We produce elegant wines consistent with tradition but produced through a young philosophy and a modern vinification of our estate which is based on respect of an ancient and unique terroir and a careful selection of grapes. Our philosophy is to research the perfect summery between cultivar, soil, training system and vinification process. We can say “every vine has its wine” because tasting our wine you can taste vines where it is produced.
